Usually I think of cadence when talking about music or the spoken word. The definition of the word is: 1. Balanced, rhythmic flow, as of poetry or oratory, or; 2. The measure or beat of movement, as in dancing or marching. But it seems to me that all of these concepts apply to the visual world as well! Viewers have seen many things in this painting, and that is wonderful! But I hope that the underlying presence of "rhythmic flow" or the "beat of movement" is present in their mind’s eye. It is actually the dominant grays that carry this painting, with color serving as periods, semi-colons, dashes, and commas -- the punctuation marks that establish a rhythm, a cadence. Of course, don't forget the "all caps" and the exclamation marks -- the brightest colors that give us the crescendo of the piece!. Oil on Canvas. Unframed. Painted matt black sides of the wrap around canvas. Artist can add a black shadow frame to this painting for $200.
